Preparation begins with a concept and research….

The Concept: A Breakdown of a song and its creation.

Research:

Ryan Tedder (with Amy Allen, who just won Songwriter of the year at the Grammys)

What I love about this record is that you get the best of both words, you get the conversation / interview style content but you also get an inside scoop on the creation of the record. An example is Ryan talking about the style of the song, being inspired by Timberland and his time with him early on in his career.

Another Example would be the musical genius Charlie Puth

In this video, Charlie is giving us tips from some of the greatest musicians of our time from Ryan Tedder, Max Martin, Pharrell and more. This video is is unique because he is creating the song in real time while makes edits to the vocals. At each step in the process he is being reminded of a lesson from a producer who has shaped culture with their music.

Overall, I take away that each video requires you to make sure you dissect the layers of the song and show the viewer what you are doing. By voicing over and sharing your scream, you allow the view to have a clear picture into the creation of mix.
